On October 7-8, the International Gastronomic Festival was held in Samarkand

Guests of the two-day festival enjoyed delicious food and festive performances. Besides, during of the festival was a unique competition between restaurants and chefs.

Which region is "tastier", whose dish is the most original, presentable and in many other nominations was evaluated by an authoritative jury that included eminent and well-known experts in the culinary world and chefs.

Also, chefs from foreign countries demonstrated a master class for guests and tourists who attended the event.

The international jury included Shukhrat Sharipov, chairman of the Kyrgyz Chefs Association, international culinary judge.

Nikolai Andreevich Baratov is a recognized barbecue expert, an international culinary judge, an honorary member of the National Chefs Guild of Russia and many foreign professional associations.

Hani Zein Mohammed is the Founder and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Chef Development Society, Certified Master Chef by the World Association of Chefs’ Society (WACS), International Judge, accredited by WACS.

Ala’a Abdusalam Hussain Davud is Vice Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Arabian Chef Development Society, Certified Master Chef by the World Association of Chefs’ Society (WACS) and Ziya Shahbazov is a chef from Azerbaijan.

The event also featured booths displaying the products of artisans, tailors and master jewelers.

One of the goals of the festival was to demonstrate the culinary technologies of modern cooking and at the same time give guests and residents of Samarkand an opportunity to get acquainted with the national culinary traditions of all regions of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the purpose of this festival is to widely promote the gastronomic potential of our country, develop international cooperation in the field of gastronomic tourism, increase the flow of tourists by popularizing national culinary traditions.
